Isomerism

Chemistry Isomerism is the property of molecules of having the same molecular formula (isomers) but differing in their structure, giving them different properties.

Nuclear physics Nuclear isomerism is the existence of several nuclides, atomic nuclei with the same atomic number Z and the same atomic mass A, but with different nuclear structures (different energy states).

Nuclear isomer transitions can be observed with the emission of gamma photons.
