Equation

An equation (from the Latin aequatio: equality) is an equality that is subject to conditions that are verified by specifying certain undetermined parameters.
Example: an equation is an equality of the type a + b = 3 where a, b are whole numbers. The equation is true for a =1 and b = 2. But it is not true for a =1 and b = 3.
