VDSL

VDSL, Very High Rate DSL - The special feature of VDSL (from the xDSL family) is the possibility of routing via a fibre optic connection up to the sub-distribution frames, then distributing them to customers' terminals via a copper pair and DSLAM equipment specific to the sub-distribution. This innovating technology can be used to improve eligibility for DSL technologies.

With VDSL very high speeds can be achieved: it can provide up to 52 Mbit/s in download and 2 Mbit/s in upload on a single copper pair.
