SMTP

Simple Mail Transfer Protocol.
In a TCP/IP network, this protocol manages the sending of e-mails between servers. It is also used to send e-mails from client computers.
When a user sends an e-mail to a friend, his service provider's message service acts as a relay with other SMTP servers to send the message to its destination.
