Peering

Peering is an agreement between one or more local internet access providers to interconnect their networks in order to exchange their data traffic so as to avoid using the interconnection equipment of the large national or international providers.

Local traffic exchange agreements aim both to increase data transmission speeds and to avoid the payment of considerable sums to the large network operators.
