Multiple access

Multiple access is a technique making it possible for several items of equipment to have access to a common shared resource.
- by time-sharing (TDMA: Time Division Multiple Access etc.)
- or by frequency sharing (FDMA: Frequency Division Multiple Access etc.)
- or by carrier detection (see CSMA/CD Carrier-Sense Multiple Access with Collision Detection).
