Google Desktop

Google Desktop is a hard drive search application published by Google Google Desktop indexes almost everything (leading to privacy problems according to some people): email, images, videos, PDF, music files etc.

Filters can be created to prevent Google Desktop from indexing certain documents such as secure web pages, password-protected Word documents etc.
