eDonkey is a P2P application also very well known as eMule. It is used for transferring large files (e.g. DivX films) and allows the simultaneous uploading of small chunks of a file requested by various users, immediately making the retrieved chunks available to share as the uploading proceeds.
eDonkey is a centralised P2P application developed by MetaMachine, founded by Jed McCaleb. The network is made up of servers and clients. The servers list the files shared by the various users and match them. The clients allow the users to connect to the network and share the files.
