Broadband

Broadband denotes high speed networks (of the order of at least several Mbit/s).

It describes the capacity of a fast link such as a fibre optic link. Relatively speaking, ADSL can also be called broadband compared with a link by telephone line connected to a 56 kbit/s modem.
