ADSL 2+

ADSL 2+ (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line 2+) is a broadband connection extending the limits of copper by raising the maximum frequency of telephone lines to 2.2 MHz. As a result, the maximum theoretical rate is 25 Mbit/s downloading and 1.2 Mbit/s uploading. However, with ADSL technology the rise in frequency also determines the range of the signal. To have rates higher than 10 Mbit/s with ADSL 2+, the telephone connection has to be less than 2 kilometres from the exchange.
