Refrigerant fluid

Refrigerant fluid is a liquid with specific physical properties that allow it to be used in a compression/expansion cycle to transfer calories. The fluids most often used are hydrofluorocarbons (HFC), instead of CFCs, which are now prohibited. In domestic installations, the most common are R407C and R410A. The first operates at lower pressures than the second, but does not perform as well.
