COP

The energy performance of an air conditioner or a heat pump is described by the ratio between the quantity of heat produced by the air conditioner or heat pump and the electric energy consumed by the compressor.

This ratio is the heat pump's coefficient of performance (COP). The higher the number, the higher the system performance. The upper limit is currently 7.
