SDSI

SDSI, Simple Distributed Security Infrastructure
SDSI is a new PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) facility proposed by Ronald L. Rivest (MIT) and Butler Lampson (Microsoft). It provides a means of identifying groups and membership of these groups, access control lists and security policies. In its design, SDSI binds together local names rather than global names in a hierarchy.
