Proof of Concept

In I.T., a Proof of Concept is a software program designed to demonstrate the feasibility of an attack exploiting a computer flaw. These programs are not usually themselves harmful but are for demonstration. It is obvious, however, that a harmful program (such as a worm or virus) could then be easily developed if the code were made public.
