OFDM

In OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) the signal is distributed over a large number of orthogonal sub-carrier waves each individually modulated at low bandwidth. With a near-optimum spectral efficiency, this technique also has excellent resistance to fading.

OFDM is used for terrestrial digital television in fixed mode (DVB-T) or portable mode (DVB-H), digital radio (DAB, DRM) and also for wireless networks based on standards 802.11a, 802.11g (WiFi) and 802.16 (WiMax).
