Exif

Exif, Exchangeable image file format, is a data exchange format for image files (especially in JPEG format). It is using Exif that a compatible digital camera stores the photograph characteristics (size, resolution, camera model, copyright etc.) in the image file metadata.

These data can then be very useful when searching for and classifying files.
