CSMA/CD

CSMA/CD (Carrier Sense Multiple Access - Collision Detection) is a multiple access method where each user checks that a channel is free before beginning a transmission and then monitors it during the transmission to detect any possible collisions.

This method is commonly used in local business Ethernet type networks, and in Aloha type radiocommunications networks.
