Sea ice - New

New sea ice is a general term applied to all recently formed ice. This term covers frazil, sorbet, slush and shuga, which are ices of various aspects formed of crystals that are still only weakly adhering to each other by freezing, if at all, and only have a defined appearance when they float on the surface.
