Juvenile water

Juvenile water is water that comes directly from the depths of the Earth's mantle. It generally leaves this chamber during degassing of land volcanoes, the crystallisation of magma or the eruption of hot springs.

The juvenile water thus makes its first appearance on the surface of the planet, before joining the water cycle.

During volcanic eruptions, the Earth's mantle releases water vapour.
