Carbonatite

Carbonatite is an igneous rock composed of 80% of large carbonate crystals (calcite, dolomite, sometimes with ankerite and siderose), associated with a large variety of silicates. The carbonatites, which usually occur in the form of small intrusive ring structured formations, also contain minerals rich in Nb, Ta, Ti, Th, U and rare earths (q.v.).
