Replication

Replication is the mechanism by which new DNA or RNA nuclear molecules are produced for some viruses.

On a cellular level, the copy of the DNA leads to the formation of two daughter molecules which are identical to each other and to the parent molecule. This action takes place in chromosomes before cell division (chromosomal replication).
