Nitrogen base

A nitrogen base is a molecule contained in nucleic acid (DNA and RNA) and is the substance which carries the nucleotide information. DNA consists of the following 4 bases: A = adenine; G = guanine ; C = cytosine ; T = thymine. RNA consists of the following 4 bases: A = adenine ; G = guanine ; C = cytosine ; U = uracil.
