Genomics

The science of genomes. Genomics combines a set of tests used to establish the map of the genome (mapping), identifying new genes, studying their functions, and the sequencing of DNA molecules. Informatics plays an important role in these tests. For example, specialist software can classify genes according to homologues (resemblances) in their sequences and therefore in their functions.
