Epigenetic

Epigenetic refers to all changes (or factors) which are not coded for the DNA sequence (methylation, prions, etc.) They may be transmitted during divisions by non-Mendelian transmisson.

An abnormality that does not change the sequence of the gene but the organisation of chromatin and therefore accessibility through gene regulation factors.
