NFC

NFC (Near Field Communication) is a very short distance radio telecommunications technique, typically a few centimetres. It uses the standards for passive RFID chips adapted for communications between two active components.

Although it is not generalised yet, small purchases should become payable using mobile telephones with NFC chips (the electronic purse feature).
