MPEG-4

MPEG-4 is a much more powerful video image compression format than the MPEG-2 used for DVDs sold in the shops. This compression format is very suitable for high definition broadcasting without occupying too much bandwidth on the vector used (satellite, cable or terrestrial digital television). As with MPEG-2, the image definition depends on the bit rate used by the encoder.
