CPU

The Central processing unit or CPU is the main processing unit or microprocessor of a computer. It has various parameters such as clock rate, frequency, cache memory, which are themselves dependent on the component density on the silicon chip.

The CPU executes program instructions and is the most important component in a computer configuration. Its power is measured in flops, i.e. the number of floating point calculations made per second.
