AAC is the abbreviation for Advanced Audio Coding Also called MPEG-2 AAC or MPEG-2 NBC, this format is the successor to MP3. AAC files coded at a bit rate of 96 kb/s offer a slightly better quality than MP3 coded at 128 kb/s.
