Polylactic acid

Polylactic acid, known as PLA, is a polymer of biological origin in contrast to the more common fossil origin polymers. It is bio-available and biodegradable and is used in the food industry for packaging sensitive foods such as eggs, but also in the pharmaceutical industry for certain pills.
