Halogen

The halogens are the chemical elements of group VII of the periodic classification (fluorine, chlorine, bromine, iodine, astatine).

These elements, which readily form salts (halos = salt) with metals, have powerful properties that make them very useful in photoluminescence (lighting) and bleaching.
