Fuel oil

Fuel oil (also called heating oil) is a petroleum derivative. Its use is usually restricted to domestic, industrial or agricultural heating as well as a fuel for agricultural machinery, fishing boats and public works machinery.

It is a fossil energy resource and contributes to air pollution.

Fuel oil is produced by refining crude oil (fractions from C16 to C17 to C18, boiling point between 300 °C and 400 °C), it is very close to diesel fuel.
