Prostrate shrub

A prostrate shrub is a type of perennial plant found in cold or mountainous regions, of which the organs (buds) that allow it to survive bad weather are located between 10 and 50 centimetres above the ground.

In this manner, the buds of this biological type, which are more or less woody, are protected from the frost by the winter snow mantle.
