Pollen

Pollen is the male element of flowering plants: generally, it is a fine dust produced by the anther that fertilises seeds through contact with the stigma. Fertilisation is led through tubes (pollen tubes) which eject pollen grains stuck to the stigma and penetrate through the tissues to an ovary.
