Hemicrpytophyte

A hemicryptophyte plant is a perennial plant of which the organs that make it possible for it to survive the bad season (drought or winter) are located at in the ground.

During the season in which conditions are unfavourable, the parts above the ground of this type of plant disappear, making it very discrete.

Thus, only the rosette of dandelions leaves(Taraxacum sp.) is visible during the winter, while the field bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis) is reduced to its rhizome.
