Nutritional value of broccoli
Broccoli is exceptionally rich in vitamins (A, B5, B9, C). Another equally important benefit of this vegetable is its moderate calorie count (25 kilocalories per 100 grammes) as well as its high fibre and mineral content. Its antioxidants are also good for fighting against the development of certain types of cancer.
Broccoli varieties include the annual broccoli variety, Romanesco broccoli (which looks like cauliflower) and sprouting broccoli.
Broccoli flowers blossom and turn yellow at room temperature. Store broccoli (3 to 4 days) in the vegetable crisper wrapped in its original packaging.
