Acidophile

An acidophilic plant is a species that grows in acidic soil and, often, in silica rich soil.

This soil may range from slightly acidic to very acidic. Some acidophilic species tolerate a wide range of pH levels, while other species are more exclusive.

The presence of acidophilic vegetation is therefore an indication of soil type.
