Monomer

A monomer is a molecule used to synthesise polymers which can be linked to another identical molecule (= dimerised), to two other identical molecules (= trimerised), to allow ten other identical molecules (= oligomerised) or to several hundred identical molecules (= polymerised).

A molecule released during hydrolysis of a polymer such as glucose and amino acids.
