Granzyme

Granzymes are proteases which degrade cells that are dangerous to the body.

Granzymes are produced by lymphocytes in the cell granules. When lymphocytes are activated, the granzymes reach the cell to destroy it by a mechanism of granule exocytosis. They enter the cytoplasm through the action of perforins which create holes in the cell membranes.
