Eusocial

Eusocial insects (bees, wasps, bumble bees, ants and termites) have the most evolved social system which has three basic characteristics:

  • cooperation in the care of immature forms;
  • overlap of at least two generations allowing descendants to help their parents during part of their lives ;
  • the presence of females which are specialised in reproduction, the other females working in other tasks.
