DHEA

DHEA, or dehydroepiandrosterone, is a steroid hormone secreted by the adrenal glands. Its precise role within the body is still little understood. Its concentrations, however, reduce gradually with age.

It has been widely publicised for its supposed anti-ageing properties which have never however been proven.

DHEA is a steroid hormone with a similar structure to that of testosterone. DR Credits
